Live Review: Life Is Better Blonde is back with a dreamy new track 'Fire'

15 March 2017 | 9:43 am | Natalie Turner

Life is Better Blonde becoming more and more of an asset to the Aussie music scene and now he has returned once again with an epic new track ‘Fire’.

Like a cloud of smoke, LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE quickly filled the room with his thick, slow building mass of electronica when he debuted his first single ‘Mine’ back in 2015. It's now been a couple of years since his debut and we’ve seen another original release, ‘Follow Me’ and a heartwarming, slow paced rendition of FRANK OCEAN’s ‘Swim’. Every release turned our intrigue into sheer admiration, as his production style became more and more of an asset to the Aussie music scene. Now he has returned once again with an epic new track, ‘Fire’.

This Melbourne based producer is still an enigma, as we are yet to uncover the mystery of his identity. But we were once taught as children not to judge a book by its cover but by its content, so LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE has become a living example of providing a voice without a physical aesthetic and it’s a little exciting. The sense of mystery is but a mere addition to the excitement surrounding him, providing his own exceptional vocals and out of this world production. Excitement is but one of many emotions that will evolve.

‘Fire’, to put it simply, is an electronic dream. Filled with mesmerising samples that are embellished with glitchy synths that glide together in unison, it embodies the heart and soul of electronica but is twisted just enough to transform it into an auditory wonderland.

Those BATHS fans out there have most definitely found their next obsession. ‘Fire’ familiarising itself with their sample heavy production and intricate compilations of synthesisers, with just sprinkle a little JAMES BLAKE over the top and you can begin to understand the exceptional sounds of LIFE IS BETTER BLONDE.
