Sydney based producer Jonti teams up with the ever talented Steve Lacy for the new track 'Scrood', a soulful number that is being released by the illustrious Australian label Future Classic.

With warm, edited and catchy vocals, 'Scrood' is exactly where we left off with Jonti. A producer who was creating music ahead of its time a few years ago on Stones Throw, it's so exciting to see him finally back in action.

The track's production has classic funk and soul element in it's roots, with a funky bass line, atmospheric chimes and beautiful keys, alongside other interesting sounds that build a warm feeling around the track. There's a lot of detail in the mix - which we should expect from someone like Jonti - that might get missed on the first listen like the strings in the background, but their presence is still felt long before you notice they're there.

When talking about the track, Jonti had this to say: “Envisioned a story to go with it of a man walking through a burning city to get to this person he loves. Which is a metaphor, saying that even though it feels like the world is falling apart, I’m still going to try do my best and soldier forward with love.”

Jonti has done a great job with this track everything fits together perfectly to create a feel good track. With a long list of collab credits like Mark RonsonBADBADNOTGOODJagwar MaWarpaint and more as well as having worked with The Avalanches on Wildflower and toured with them, it seems Jonti is finally shifting the focus back onto his own music - and we couldn't be more excited for what is still to come.
