Live Review: Fresh Hex drops a sunny remix to Donatachi's 'A/S/L'

Remixing a song that is so punchy and memorable, like the absolutely banging 'A/S/L' by DONATACHI and with help from TASHKA and BLAIR DE MILO, can be a pretty daunting task, but Melbourne producer FRESH HEX has tackled that task head on and given us one of the best remixes of 2017 so far.

While the remix still upholds the colourful splashes of bubblegum goodness that the original tune overflows with, Fresh Hex has given 'A/S/L' a far smoother-sailing rework. Switching out the thumping percussion for a glistening, lightweight feel, the remix makes 'A/S/L' far less club banger and much more poolside relaxer - both are equally as good.

Of the remix, Fresh Hex said, "Where the original featured lashings of raw bass and springy percussion this remix sails along like a boat on the water towards the sunshine, all whilst the people on board (presumably myself, Donatachi, Tashka and Blair De Milo) clink our full glasses of Pinot Grigio." Get us to that yacht ASAP.

Fresh Hex is no stranger to putting his unique, refreshing spin on these types of tunes. Late last year, he dropped a stomping remix of Hi Life's iconic 'When I Get To The Club' and, again, transformed the track into all his own, without compromising what made the original so great.
