Grab your wrap-around sunnies and pop on your spaghetti straps, because Benson and Yeo's latest 'Trying' has some definite 2000s vibes.

Grab your wrap-around sunnies and pop on your spaghetti straps, because BENSON and YEO's latest has some definite 2000s vibes. 'Trying' is a brand new dancey collaboration between the two Melbournites.

Yeo is one of the hottest collaborators on the scene at the moment. The Midas Touch of music, he has seen incredible success jumping aboard tracks with the likes of Asta and Hermitude. Benson is the latest of these artists, and together they have produced to a track to be reckoned with. 'Trying' is the first of Benson's songs to be released through Medium Rare Recordings, the artist's own boutique record label.

Lyrically packed and riding out a reliable pop structure, 'Trying' has a lot of potential for commercial success; taking the pulsing percussion out of the clubs and into your car's radio. But at its heart, it is a house track. Resonance warps its way through the song, keeping the beat pumping through your body.

Rather interestingly, the instrumental comes across as somewhat subdued. Although absolutely stacked with bass and rhythm, the pair have reached into their bag of tricks to give the song some very cool under water vibes. 'Trying' is a catchy tune with a whole lot of potential, really showcasing the growing strengths and profiles of both Yeo and Benson.
