Good Manners and Wondercore Island team up for Good Island festival, and are donating the proceeds to ASRC

Good Island Festival has partnered with the ASRC to help highlight refugee issues.

If you're a Melbournian you would have heard the good news about Good Island Festival. If you're not a Melbournian, you may have also heard about it, but if you haven't, listen closely. On February 4, some of the best up and coming electronic musicians and visual artists in Australia will be performing at this brand new event.

This is the first festival of it's kind. Not only because of the harmonious blend of art and sound, but because of what the festival is also doing for refugees. Good Manners and Wondercore Island have joined forces, and rosters, to put on this spectacular line up that is Good Island, and have decided to go that one step further to make it an even better day. Good Island wants to highlight the issues that refugees are facing across the world and help them build better lives.

The festival itself will be donating all profits to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC). Funds from every ticket sold will go towards the good work of ASRC and, if you so choose, you can also donate independently. Some artists have also decided to waive their fees as well, opting to donate that to the ASRC.

The festival said of the decision, "Given the current climate politically we think this is a worthwhile gesture of funds and helps highlight the issues refugees are facing worldwide including Manus Island close to home. We're encouraging all patrons to join us in solidarity with ASRC as an organisation doing work on the frontline of refugee advocacy and support."

All they're asking for is a hand.

Speaking of the artists, Good Island will have BUOY sharing her talent alongside CORIN, HTMLflowers, LUEN, MARCUS WHALE and PLANETE. These are some of the best electronic music acts currently coming out of Australia and they're performing not only for your entertainment but for a great cause.

If you're keen to help the ASRC out as well as checking out some of the best talent this country has to offer, purchase your Good Island tickets right now for a good deed, a good conscience and a mighty good time!
