Live Review: Sean Heathcliff's new single is far from 'Ordinary'

23 February 2017 | 12:03 pm | Rosie Rae

Melbourne artist SEAN HEATHCLIFF returns with another positively dreamy single 'Ordinary,' the lead track from his forthcoming EP, A Boy and His Rose. When we last heard material from Sean Heathcliff he was performing solo material under the moniker of Kagu, but he's since evolved his sound as well as adopting his own brand. Aside from his solo stuff, Heathcliff was also formerly part of the much loved Aussie band SNAKADAKTAL, so it comes as no surprise that his sound is incredibly polished.

'Ordinary' is a subtle track, built around guitar that sounds as floaty and gentle as a harp. Sean Heathcliff's whispery vocals float in and out, and really transform this track into a dream like soundscape. The track builds momentum when the broken percussion comes in and the sound of xylophone breaks through.

'Ordinary' is the first taste from Sean Heathcliff's EP A Boy and His Rose, We're excited to hear the rest of the EP when it's drops on March 17th. If you're a massive fan like us, you can pre order your copy now via Liberation Music.
