Brisbane artist AIRLING releases another teaser track ‘Not A Fighter’ from her soon to be released debut LP, ‘Hard To Sleep, Easy To Dream’

Breathtaking vocals, an ear for synthesised production and the eloquent talent of story telling, Brisbane artist AIRLING releases another teaser track ‘Not A Fighter’ from her soon to be released debut LP, Hard To Sleep, Easy To Dream.

We heard ‘Move Me’ late last year, which subtly caught only glimpses of the LP and left us pining for more of her delicate and compelling sounds. Now we are a few months nearer and another song closer to its release and we couldn’t be more excited.

The title ‘Not A Fighter’ could not fit the song more perfectly, as you surrender so easily to her melting melodies, a feeling you only receive when during personal moments of bliss. The first sip of tea, the feeling of submerging in water during an Aussie heat wave or simply kicking off your shoes after a long day; Airling captures it all with that signature layer of synths in the background.

Airling takes synth-pop to a whole other spectrum as she so effortlessly demonstrates her ability to weave instrumentals through vocals which tells a story start to finish. She shared a little perspective about what this track means to her and how her stories shaped her artistry, saying, "These songs and stories have been a big part and a product of me getting to know life, death and myself - while at the same time expressing myself to others. Aligning my thoughts and emotions with songs and words. Trying to live life free of fear while still acknowledging its existence and exploring its pain. Learning to love myself so I can explore my ability to love others and my potential to create. I am insanely proud of this record.”

Her emotion and dedication has been poured into not only ‘Not A Fighter’ but all her work so far, creating a sense of curiosity (and mostly excitement) for what she still has up her sleeve for us for the release of the LP in April. We should all take a moment, breath and listen to Airling's latest captivating effort.
