Willaris. K kicks off 2017 with debut track ‘Alchemy’
Many of your favourite artists come out of capital cities. Melbourne is dubbed music central, Sydney is fighting to resurrect its legendary club scene (#KeepSydneyOpen) and Brisbane’s close-knit scene guarantees every new act gets some exposure. But in 2017, coastal New South Wales is taking centre stage and WILLARIS. K is leading the charge.
The producer has just released his debut track ‘Alchemy’ and it’s a moody adventure through light electronic sound. Having a lot of experience in production, Willaris. K, also known as Jack McAllister, knows what works and his knowledge has helped him create a track that feels on par with JON HOPKINS and BONOBO.
The textures in ‘Alchemy’ work together to create a melody that is completely unique and switches from harsh digital tones to airy atmospherics effortlessly. The song sounds like a walk through a dark jungle, intriguing, surprising, dark and mystical. ‘Alchemy’ will be the track you listen to when you feel lost and need something to help calm your nerves.
If Willaris. K has more tracks like this up his sleeve, he’ll make a huge impact on the electronic scene in 2017. He’s popping up to Brisbane soon to play his first show of the year alongside Palms Trax so if you’re gonna be in town, it’s probably a good idea to see what this guy is capable of.
