Live Review: Doorly's top tracks for touring

9 December 2016 | 7:42 pm | Staff Writer

Fresh from a summer filled with playing residencies in Ibiza and releasing music on DirtyBird, Cajual and WOW!, internationally acclaimed selector/producer/recent label head DOORLY is set to bring his pumping house sounds Down Under for a mammoth tour over December and January.

Chasing the summer across the planet, DOORLY kicks things off at YOUR PARADISE festival in Fiji, before jumping over to New Zealand, then Australia and finally Bali on a whirlwind string of dates. Given that his reputation of incredible sets precedes him, these shows are not to be missed.

Also set to launch this month is his new label and party series, Reptile Dysfunction, so the man has more than a few reasons to celebrate. To get to know him a little better before he touches down in the Southern Hemisphere, we asked Doorly to put together a little tour playlist. Check it out below, as well as his many tour dates!

Dude Energy – Renee Running

This is just one of those tracks that takes hold of a room. I’ve played it so many times and it has never failed me. Definitely one that unites the dancefloor if you ever feel like you’re losing it!

Doorly & Tan Dem Feat The Voice Of Mike Skinner – Tonga Peak Times (Confuse Dem)

This will be the first release on my new label, Reptile Dytsfunction. It comes out December 23 it’s been my biggest record all summer, so I’m really excited for it to be released. Can’t wait to hear what people think of it.

Mood Hut – Better

Just awesome vinyl-only disco edit business with a wonky electronic twist. Says it all really.

Dino Lenny & Doorly – Magic Room (Luke Solomon & Seth Troxler Remixes)

This just came out on Seth Troxlers Play it Say It label with fresh remixes from himself and a ridiculously funky one from Luke Solomon that makes people lose their shit!

Rodriguez Jr – Mistral

A stunning piece of music.  Works really well as either a pallet cleanser if the warm up DJ is boshing out 126bpm agro music or as a beautiful way to finish a set.

Hammer - Stripes

Something I picked up on vinyl only this week but it’s fast becoming my favourite thing to play out, so it’s going to get a absolute hammering on this tour. Optimo’s label killing it as always.

Enzo Siragusa – Jump Up

Another wicked release on Enzo’s Fuse Label, which is without doubt one of the most consistent out there. Perfect for the late night sets this one.

Alma Negra – Maheko

Lovely tribal African stuff with wonky vocal chops, right up my ally!

Tom Trago – Being Broke

Can’t stop playing this, always love Trago’s stuff and the vocals especially on this are so nice.

Luis CL – It’s getting better

Wrapping things up with one for an open-minded crowd. Great for a change of pace if people get their heads around it. Sample heaven!
