Live Review: Ta-ku and Wafia share Poté's bouncing remix of 'Love Somebody'

2 December 2016 | 1:07 pm | Jackson Langford

Ta-ku's and Wafia's 'Love Sombody' has seen remix after remix this year, but UK-based producer POTÉ's might be the best one yet.

It honestly feels like TA-KU and WAFIA's stunning (m)edian EP is the gift that refuses to stop giving. Released earlier this year via Future Classic, lead single 'Love Somebody' has gone through remix after remix, each one adding a different feel to the already stunning track. Now, as an early Xmas gift, UK-based producer POTÉ shares his rendition of the tune and refreshes its existence once again. Poté's remix might just be the best one yet.

Poté, who is known for his fearlessness in his unique and cultural-merging sound, gives the track an entirely different feel as he adds throbbing synths and intense percussion to elevate it. His remix gives the song an 80's-like feel that is completely immersive, and is inviting you to get more and more lost in the song with each passing second.

Alongside this monster remix, Ta-Ku and Wafia shared their mesmerising Spotify Session, which features a set of multiple songs from their collaborative EP. Performing in an intimate setting, this makes you feel like this is the way this piece of work was meant to be heard - the emotions behind the EP are on full display as you can here them in their rawest form with each song. They also treated us to a special performance of Wafia's 2015 breakout hit 'Heartburn'. The whole thing is a truly essential listen and renders one of the year's more underrated releases in a completely different light. After all, 2016 has been pretty rotten - you owe it to yourself to give this bad boy a listen.
