Listen to Jerry Bouthier's eclectic Top 10 playlist

15 December 2016 | 8:20 am | Lauren Payne

To celebrate his first solo release, Jerry Bouthier tells us his top 10 eclectic tracks.

JERRY BOUTHIER is a house legend. His tracks have soundtracked the best parties across the globe and his production skills are unlike anything you would have heard before. The producer is beloved by the fashion elite, with him curating music for Vivienne Westwood and Kitsune amongst others.

The producer has never released anything under his own name because as he says, it's unfair to the team that helped him if he didn't acknowledge their participation.

"I come from a band/group background and as long as I wasn’t producing tunes strictly on my own, it didn’t seem fair to the other musicians involved in the creative process with me. That’s why we started JBAG for instance, the contribution of my musical sidekick Andrea Gorgerino is huge, it wouldn’t have made sense to release our stuff as Jerry Bouthier."

'Yeah! (DJ Tools)' is Jerry's first solo release and to celebrate, we got him to tell us about his favourite electronic tracks that have shaped the way he makes his music.

Marcus Mar ‘Rocketship (Jerry Bouthier Edit)’

“I've managed a catchier re-edit thanks to the main vocal hook being isolated, so handy, thx Marcus!"

Ekkah ‘Small Talk’

“Can’t remember how I discovered this sweet London duo but their take on Madonna’s earlier sound on this song is irresistible, great singers"

“Possibly my best JBAG remix with Andrea Gorgerino, we gave this classic 80s hit re-released on Continental a whole new kind of South African mood"

Moby ‘Go (Andrew Claristidge Remix-Jerry Bouthier Edit)’

“Currently firing on all cylinders, my Acid Washed buddy delivers an excellent reinterpretation of this rave monster, I did a shorter edit for the smaller clubs"

Loredana Berte ‘Number One’

“One of my 'all back to mine' weapons, a bit of Latin passione to finish the night and get intimate to…"
