French producer JOAKIM was the subject of a lot of hype about a month ago, when his hotly anticipated EP, Daemon, was released on DJ Tennis' Life And Death label. As the anticipation reached fever pitch, all was good again in the world when he delivered what could well be described as some of his best work in his unique niche in dance music.
Having been the label's second release for the year, all eyes were on Joakim, and now we've had time to digest it, we're all about it. Joakim said of the release it is "full of modular synth tweaking and a nod to... '90s Detroit techno epic/melancholic vibes." As for the B-side? "RnB meets techno," he said.
To celebrate the release, we are so excited to bring an almighty guest mix to you from the man himself. Asserting "This is not techno," Joakim's natural selecting abilities and genuine knack for just knowing what sounds good is at the forefront here. Check it out below!
