Live Review: Jess Kent hits the 'The Sweet Spot' with new video

16 November 2016 | 10:00 am | Jackson Langford

The future princess of Australian pop has announced her 'My Name is Jess Kent EP', out Friday 18 November via Capitol Records.

Australian up-and-comer JESS KENT has been enchanting the nation with her unique style of reggae-infused electropop since last year. When she dropped massive tune 'Get Down', we knew we were in for something big. Now, with the release of her visuals for 'The Sweet Spot', she is about to blow up and she wants you to know it.

As the Sydney-based former busker bops around a warehouse with 'THE SWEET SPOT' hanging in the background, it's her unshakable confidence and self-assuredness that makes us believe that she is destined for greatness. "Don't wanna peak before you get to the top," she says, as she nails the importance of hard work and not becoming complacent in what sounds like a warning - she's coming for the top.

On top of this huge video, Jess Kent has also done a Beyoncé on us and announced her debut EP, My Name is Jess Kent, will be released on Friday 18 November aka THIS FRIDAY! The EP, released through Capitol Records is a long time coming for the singer, after she scored an international record deal as well as clocking an impressive 1.5 million plays on Spotify for her debut single. She's currently promoting the release in the US supporting fellow Australian Troye Sivan on his tour. Seems like Kent is making all the right moves.
