Sydney summer fest The Plot released a star studded lineup earlier this year of local acts that left you praising the festival gods for such a glorious gift. The Parramatta party is filled with Australia's best Vera Blue, Thelma Plum, Montaigne, Buoy, the list goes on! But here at Purple Sneakers we wanna make things a little easier for you whilst planning your festival schedule. As a part of our Purple Sneakers Approved series here's our top 5 contenders for the big day.

Mallrat

The 17 year old emcee from Brisbane is killing the game right now, the success of her Uninvited EP putting her at the top of our list for must see acts. Her tracks are well produced Aussie bangers with a hint of sassy attitude which we reckon would be perfect for a boogie in the summer Sydney sun… Get around her.

Running Touch

#7 artist to watch for 2016 according to inthemix, made it to the 50 most played acts on triple J Unearthed, and most recently having his own intimate tent set at this years Splendour In The Grass… need we say more? If you're into progressive dance pop, then Running Touch should definitely take a spot on your festival schedule.

Paces

The man who’s definitely not pacing himself when it comes to showcasing his talent, Paces also makes it in to our top 5 must see acts. His upbeat electronic style quickly gained recognition all over Australia and we reckon it would be a perfect break up to some of the more alternative acts and who doesn't love a good banger?

Japanese Wallpaper

Following the unintentional pattern of super young Aussie talent, next on our list is the multi talented, multi-instrumentalist Japanese Wallpaper. This youngin’ has talent way (way) beyond his years topping charts and breaking hearts with his exceptionally produced, alternative electro. We can 100% picture ourselves swaying soulfully in his crowd and thats why he makes number 4 on our list.

Gold Fields

last but definitely not least we recommend you check out Gold Fields. Why not add a lil funky-pop to your Plot?  These lads are an awesome addition to the lineup, with the five-piece bringing some pretty funk tunes to Australia, even supporting The Naked and Famous on their national tour. instead of catching them as a support act though we reckon you check them out when the stage is entirely their own.

So there we have it, top 5 acts to check out as you frolic in the glorious Sydney surroundings, check out the full line up below for the rest of the 10/10 lineup.
