Live Review: Get nostalgic with Yollks' debut dream-pop single 'Return to Sender'

YOLLKS is the freshly hatched moniker of Elle Tayla, a Philip Island borne Melbourne based producer/singer with her first track ‘Return To Sender’.

YOLLKS is the freshly hatched moniker of Elle Tayla, a Philip Island born Melbourne based producer/singer, who has just released her first track ‘Return To Sender’. Dream pop at it’s finest, ethereal yet catchy, awash with nostalgia yet so present, Yollks’ simple yet powerful production skills pair beautifully with a strong and otherworldly voice that flow over wobbling synths and hi-hats.

Yollk’s voice is reminiscent of Imogen Heap and rather than paddling in the often wishy-washy pools of dream pop, she is not afraid to put power behind her voice and let you know what is going on – she’s moving on, she’s letting go – love was lost but there is more out there.

For the release of 'Return to Sender', Yollks has teamed up with Perth-based accessory designer alexjustspat for a small collection of accessories such as chokers, stickers and badges. Rounding out a fine-tuned image and sound, Yollks is definitely a producer/singer to keep an eye on, nailing sound, style and taste that will surely only develop.
