Live Review: Explore A Dystopian Future In Corin's Video For 'Void'

Corin is an original artist who's work seems to transcend regular electronic boundaries.

If you've ever been worried about what the machines would do if they were able to take over the world and Arnie wasn't there to save us, CORIN's new video may or may not put you at ease. The electro act's video for 'Void' has just been released and it looks at a future where robotic dehumanisation is dominant, or as she explains, "the increasing normalisation of our intimate connections with technology that begs us to question where we end and the machine begins."

'Void' is a track that transports you into another world, even without the video's accompaniment. The track experiments with harsh synths and digital twangs that feel stiff and sharp, whilst also twisting the more intricate production into a melody that seems to flow well. 'Void' definitely feels otherworldly, and Corin's production is refreshingly shocking; an electrical surge of sound that is rarely presented today.

The video perfectly sums up the vision of 'Void' with video artist Tristan Jalleh at the helm. Tristan and Corin have created a film that follows a programmer creating their own artificial world and shows the viewer what a new industrial age may look like if it is at all possible. It's a visual masterpiece and Corin's music only seems to emphasise the story just by enhancing the experience.

Corin is an original artist who's work seems to transcend regular electronic boundaries. She knows classical piano but her fascination with the digital has drawn her attention to the intricate music she produces now, which we should be thankful for really, because that transition has led us to 'Void' and her upcoming EP which will be epic.
