Live Review: Blair Burcher sets the bar high with debut single, 'Do My Own Thing'

Brisbane producer and rapper Blair Burcher has come out with his track 'Do My Own Thing'.

'Do My Own Thing' as the title hints, is about Blair Burcher wanting to do his own thing and be free of all the drama that surrounds his life. This is the point that gets repeated in the hook and it's the idea that will stay with you after the song finishes.

The production and vocals on this track have this dark feeling to them, which kind of hangs over the track while it's playing. The track finds ways to be emotive and catchy with it's hook and the verses have some substance to them.

Blair Burcher uses auto tune in the same way as other artists like Travis Scott or even fellow Brisbane rapper Midas.Gold. While this type of auto tune is fairly common in the States, down here in Australia it can really make an artist stand out when compared to other Australian rappers.

This music is great to nod your head to and get a feel of what Blair is feeling while taking in the catchy hook.
