Live Review: Woodes releases ethereal video for 'The Thaw'

2 September 2016 | 8:33 am | Lauren Payne

Set at Lake Mountain in the thick of winter, Woodes has shared an absolutely stunning new video for her track 'The Thaw'.

One of the most exciting things about being a musician is creating a great music video. Producer WOODES has released a brand new video for her track 'The Thaw' and it's clear that this woman has a knack for creating visually tasteful videos.

'The Thaw' itself is a beautiful track. Very smooth vocals cover a deep bass that feels really warm and just a little bit seductive. It's a balance many artists have attempted to master but haven't succeeded in the technical way 'The Thaw' seems to. WOODES clearly knows what she's doing when it comes to musical production.

'The Thaw' references snow and ice throughout the lyrics and so, to WOODES it seemed fitting to shoot on location at Lake Mountain during the Australian winter. The light snow juxtaposes with the harsh trees across the mountain and the whole scene seems quite ethereal. WOODES' collaborated with choreographer Courtney Hale to enhance the magical quality of the clip and to make sure that each movement flowed perfectly.
