Jazz improv-beat makers VULTURE ST TAPE GANG have placed down their own 'Galactic Funk Remix' of Sampa The Great's 'Blue Boss'.

Jazz improv-beat makers VULTURE ST TAPE GANG have placed down their own 'Galactic Funk Remix' of Sampa The Great's 'Blue Boss'.

Take the drummer and vocalist from Australian neo-soul band Laneous & The Family-Yah, introduce them to a talented classical/baroque pianist, synth collector and DJ, and a collection of jazz/funk improvisations are formed. We now know these guys as Vulture St Tape Gang (VSTG) and it's their processes in creating tracks that have made them who they are. Recorded straight onto a 4-track cassette, the band describe their methods as, "Beats take as long to make as they do to listen to".

Their latest remix of 'Blue Boss' by Sampa The Great, takes chill house and converts it into a funk/hip-hop track. An eclectic mix of synth looping and harmonies for a punk-attitude emphasis, this rework is a great wind-down after a long week. Take a listen to their 'Galactic Funk Remix' below!

You may have even heard these legends live previously, supporting acts such as Guilty Simpson, Fatima, Hiatus Kaiyote and Oscar Key Sung. Either way, keep an ear out as I'm sure they have a lot more to come!
