Live Review: Conner Youngblood drops powerful new single 'Sulphur Springs'

Singer from Dallas Conner Youngblood has put out his powerful single 'Sulphur Springs'.

Conner Youngblood shows off some great ideas and promise on this single by really carving out his own sound by combining styles from other genres. One of the main things that comes out on Conner's voice during 'Sulphur Springs' is the amount of effects and modulation that comes through on it, at some points it's very Kanye-esque in the sense that his voice almost sounds like a part of the production rather than separate from it. Overall the vocals are rich in sound and really fill out the track's production.

The production of this track contains heaps of little background elements that complement the driving instruments of the song.  The production is expertly layered and with every listen, more and more details will be revealed to you; extra flute lines, vocal and distorted sounds and more. So much is hidden beneath the leading melodies and it all provides more for your ear to get drawn to.

Conner explains his feelings about the reasons why he creates music like:

“I would be making songs and showing them to friends, and they probably thought they were awful but they would be like 'Oh, good job.' I remember the first time I made a song that I would actually listen to, it was just like 'Oh this is real.' It didn’t matter what people thought, or what its influences were, it was just about trying to achieve making a song that I would listen to. I listen to my own songs. They are in my playlists and I get excited about them.”
