Live Review: TEEF reveal the 18 expansive soundscapes of 'Imperium in Imperio II'

TEEF and OXFAM partner up to present a compilation album of scintillating and revealing tracks titled Imperium in Imperio II.

As we mentioned last month Sydney via Melbourne label, TEEF Recordings and OXFAM have partnered up to present a compilation album of scintillating and revealing tracks titled Imperium in Imperio II.

The title itself translates to 'Empire Within An Empire' which is fitting as the collection of tracks are from artists from all over Australia. The underlining link between the 18 tracks are the electronic elements and ethereal culture.

All proceeds are headed straight to OXFAM's Syrian refugee appeal in order to helping the lives of roughly 13.5 million people in need of food, water and sanitation. Definitely a good excuse to spend those extra few dollars you're 'supposed' to be saving up, you can purchase it HERE.

The compilation introduces a few surprises throughout with the likes of frontman Joji Malani from Gang of Youths producing an intricate atmospheric piece as HϟRSampa the Great bringing her vibrant hip hop feels, and Saatsuma intruding our eardrums with reverb saturated beauty. The album as a whole is an enchanting crescendo of authentic electronica.

Have a run through the tracks now, with Tracey Chen's 'Eggs', Alice Ivy's 'St Germain' and No Local's (Snowy Nasdaq and Nic Denton of The Ocean Party) 'I've Seen It All' being certain highlights as well.

All tracks unheard to the public till now are a great addition to TEEF and OXFAM's calibre.

"We curated this collection around artists that we believe represent an important cross-section of the diverse spectrum of left-of-center Australian music. We're hoping that you'll find some gems from artists that you already love and make some new favourites in the process while also supporting an incredibly worthy cause"
