Live Review: PREMIERE: JVLY debuts his blissful sound with 'Unravel'

We're here to unveil the first play of ‘Unravel'. The impressive debut single from a Sydney based multi-faceted artist known as JVLY. The track offers an introduction to an atmospheric and downtempo soundscape.

We're told that the idea behind ‘Unravel’ came after a conversation Kayle Butler, aka JVLY, had with a friend about a bunch of things that were going on in the world at that time. “Unravel was written after a conversation I had with someone about some things that were going on in the world at the time. It’s about a search for solace, capturing a strange state of mind that’s somewhere between curious and aware. It questions morality and what we place importance on as humans” – JVLY

Ultimately this direct and serious messaging has created a juxtaposition on 'Unravel' as JVLY‘s smooth comforting vocals work with the delicate instrumentation to create this chilled, almost blissful atmosphere. Even as he questions what is really important in his world, and what really matters.
