HE'S BACK! About a year after his previous release 'Fake Handbags', your boy MELTY is back and hitting it hard with this glitchy number. Called 'Megaopolis', its opus appearance definitely lives up to its name.

Eclectic, quirky and left-of-centre are words he's probably sick of hearing, but it's very rare that you come across a producer that's so adamant on changing up their sound with every release. I would say it's more innovative and forward-thinking than anything.

'Megaopolis' plays on sharp and almost dissonant tones, relying entirely on the colour of the sounds to convey mood and image. There's high pitched, echo-ey chromatic scales as well as a syncopated bass line and some incredibly mastered percussion.

The track plays on the uncomfortability within particular electronic sounds and by repurposing these particular instruments, he's created an almost dissonant symphony. It's one with immense composure and complexity, but again, Melty's always created complex music in this similar vein.

With his return, we can only hope that there'll be some shows and new tunes on the way, but for now, 'Megaopolis' is all we need to revel in that Melty sized hole in my heart.
