ABRAHAM TILBURY, the guy formally known as Allthingslost, has dropped a teaser for his upcoming EP Knife. ‘Morphine’ is a piece of music that showcases vocal talent, musical talent, and how both haunting and up-beat sounds can be combined harmoniously.

After three years writing and making music under Allthingslost in Brisbane, Abraham Tilbury made the move down to Melbourne and decided to undergo a bit of a transformation.

‘Morphine’ was conceived during a writing session for a different project, but the acoustic piano sections Abraham Tilbury was creating became the inspiration and basis for the track. It was the move to Melbourne that spurred the motivation to finalise the track into what you hear.

Piano leads the way in ‘Morphine’, before percussion electronic keyboard jump in to accompany Abraham Tilbury’s romantic vocals. They lyrics themselves tell the melancholic story, it’s the percussion and electronic infusions that give the track it’s upbeat hope. It’s kind of like an experience on morphine with almost painful jarring sounds, warming into a fuzzy haze of lovely.

‘Morphine’ is available now on iTunes. Keep your eyes peeled for a release date for Knife.
