Hip-hop inspired Jazz band BADBADNOTGOOD have come up with their latest single for their forthcoming album IV, 'Lavender' featuring Kaytranada.

Hip-hop inspired Jazz band BADBADNOTGOOD have come up with their latest single for their forthcoming album IV, 'Lavender' featuring Kaytranada.

BADBADNOTGOOD (BBNG) have been bringing their unique flavour of hip hop inspired jazz for a while now, gaining the attention and features of artists such as Ghostface Killa, Danny brown, Tyler the Creator and now Kaytranada, who has come along to provide his production expertise on 'Lavender'

The collaboration between Kaytranada and BBNG has made a track that is gritty and that uses many different sounds to create a very diverse track. The track starts off with a gritty synth bass line and drum break which is the foundation for the rest of the track, after the bass line and drums are established several different synths and sounds come in and out of the track, from squealing horn sounds to smooth keyboard notes the track is rich with a dynamic array of sounds.

Speaking about the collaboration with Kaytranada, BADBADNOTGOOD said:

"We made Lavender amongst many other songs and samples with Kaytranada in our home studio 'Studio 69'. Kay started the idea as a beat with our drum breaks and some synth melodies. Then we recut the drums and synth to formulate a song with more sections. Kay came back to Toronto and gave us that hot lead melody as well as percussion and we all finalized the arrangement. It's an incredible honor to call Kay a close friend of ours; he is a talent like no other."

IV is out on Friday July 8.
