With an unforgettable story like that of Szymon it's safe to say that most of you probably remember the album 'Tigersapp.' A full eight months after the release of Szymon's first and final album we're been given a video for the standout track 'Floods.'

With an unforgettable story like that of SZYMON it's safe to say that most of you probably remember the album Tigersapp. A full eight months after the release of Szymon's first and final album we've been given a video for the standout track 'Floods.'

They say the greatest artists are never truly appreciated until they're gone. Vincent van Gogh was ignored in life but is celebrated in death and he's only one of many. Szymon is another. Although, unlike Vincent Van Gogh, Szymon's music was immediately recognised as genius by EMI, due to his deteriorating mental health his music never made it to release while he was alive. Instead, after his death, his producer and family continued to work closely with the original mixes of the album to create a finished product that was released three years after his death. The album was acclaimed and it's poignant, sad, indie pop celebrated.

Most would have assumed after it's release that there was nothing more to come from Szymon, however, this video for 'Floods' may rejuvenate fans. An animated constantly moving story, full of bright colours and endless spinning the video is fascinating to watch and will doubtless mean something different to everyone that watches it.

The video does not, however, come alone. It comes with the news that at this year's Splendour in the Grass there will be a tribute performance to Szymon, a recreation of 'Tigersapp' with family, friends and special guests performing the album live for the first time ever. Of the performance Szymon's sister said '“We are so excited to perform, but never imagined we'd be performing Szymon's music without him. We simply want to do justice to his art, and revel in the beauty of his incredible music.”
