Live Review: SoundCloud Wrap: Deutsch Duke

We've been waiting what feels like an eternity for this one. Emerging artist DEUTSCH DUKE is set to play his first and last show of the year tonight (Thursday, November 19) at Goodgod Small Club in Sydney.

The producer's well ahead of the game in terms of creating innovative sounds, and when you consider that he only put out his debut track a year ago, he's absolutely gone from strength to strength.

He's just released a new one called 'Harder With You', and by fusing sounds from RnB, soul, pop and mostly electronica, he's become a master of his own craft in such a short time.

His vocals are so tight, with a clean falsetto and a kind of control that shows the best of his efforts, Deutsch Duke's got everything going for him, and this show is going to be such an indication of what's to come from the producer.

Ahead of tonight's performance, we asked the musician to give us an insight into some of the tracks he's been listening to as of late.

Sam Sparro 'Hands Up'

I got to work with Sam in LA a couple months ago and he put me onto this track - love it!

Jamie Woon 'Night Air'

Well… what’s not to love about Jamie Woon…super smooth vocals, and I love the eerie/dark feel through the track. Check out the video too, it’s amazing.

Skrillex & Diplo ft. AlunaGeorge 'To Ü'

Something about this track just makes you want to dance. Super fresh sounds, love this kick and snare… vocals cut through so nicely.

JackLNDN 'Hit Refresh'

Always been into Jack’s stuff. I’m actually working on a track with him at the moment - love the groove in this track.

Elias 'Green Eyes'

Stumbled across this track only this week…I really like this guy’s voice.

Cool Uncle ft. Jessie Ware 'Break Away'

Love me some funk… and this is a jam!

Deutsch Duke 'Harder Without You (MXXWLL Remix)'

MXXWLL have been working on a bunch of music over the past couple years but this is the first time he’s remixed one of my tracks - and he totally nailed it. He’s also opening for my first headline show in Sydney on Thursday Nov 19th at Good God so if you’re in Sydney, definitely come early to check him out (then stay for my show, of course!).
