Live Review: Jeffrey Alexander ft. Gossling 'Bones'

Jeffrey Alexander has enlisted the help of Gossling for vocal duties on his new one, and this match is certainly one that's been made in heaven.

In terms of merging the ideas of creativity and emotiveness into one, I think it's actually very hard to capture this with electronic music. Vocals definitely add to the scape, but as a singular entity, electronic music is hard to manipulate to be seen in an emotional capacity.

This idea is something that doesn't faze JEFFREY ALEXANDER. After all, his new one 'Bones' captures a raw sense of feeling that's quite foreign to most aspects of dance music.

Her voice is actively stirring from the first bar, and the hollow warble of her vocals actually pairs so aptly with Jeffrey's echoed chord progression.

When the beat kicks in, this one goes from midnight sadness to mid-morning sombre, and it's a shift that makes this one feel reminiscent of early stuff from The Presets and the like. There's a killer guitar riff that pokes its head out in intervals during the chorus, and it's complimented  by a harmonic string line that comes together for something that's definitely not overpowering.

Jeffrey Alexander is absolutely killing it. The producer's only graced us with two releases so far, but boy have they kept us on edge.
