For most of us that first day of uni brings very little to enrich our lives. For London duo HONNE it was the day of their meeting, and the rest is history.

For most of us, that first day of uni brings very little to enrich our lives, it probably just had a lingering taste of hangover or smell of fear. For London based duo HONNE it was the day of their magical meeting, and the rest has become history. Their latest track ‘Gone Are The Days’ proves that better things always come after first days.

Honne are moving towards some pretty exciting times. They have their biggest gig to date locked in for next year in London, their 7 track Gone Are The Days EP is due out January 22, and the tracks they are releasing keep getting better and better. Which, potentially a little ironically, is exactly what the band say this track is about.

‘Gone Are The Days’ is the song for people who can do better, and need to be told so. It’s an upbeat, summer feeling track. The piano chords make you feel motivated to start head bopping and get yourself out of a funk. Singer Andy has a bit of a crooners voice in this track, giving it both some emotion and some romance. Producer James gives the track a pop edge with percussion added to familiarly comforting sound

It’s bittersweet to listen to a track that faintly reminds you of something else, and listen to eloquent lyrics telling you gone are the days, it’s time to move on.

You can pre-order Gone Are The Days EP now on iTunes.
