PREMIERE: KOG & The Zongo Brigade ‘Jabulani’ (Afriquoi Remix)
With summer nearly upon us here in Australia, it also won’t be long at all until the festive season is also here. The festive season means all the summer jams you could shake a stick at come out of the woodwork too, and whilst most of them pack some seriously good vibes, we think we’ve found a real winner and we’re bringing you the first listen of it today.
London based outfit AFRIQUOI are a UK afro outfit that just get good music, and their latest remix of KOG & THE ZONGO BRIGADE‘s ‘Jabulani’ simply reiterates that fact. Brimming with warm and sunshine-y vibes, this afro-dance track is all you need for the warmer party months ahead.
Drawing on an array of influences, Afriquoi have spun ‘Jabulani’ into a pulsing, upbeat, high energy dance track that will have you moving almost instantly. The piercing call of the track’s title soars over a plethora of sounds, from hard hitting drums, splashy cymbals, horn section and thumping bass. It’s one of those tracks that gets into your bones and mind; the multitude of styles and genres blending so well together with precision. It’s liberating and exhilarating to say the least.
