Brisbane producer YUMO is the latest to try his hand at remixing Hermitude's 'Ukiyo', and has well and truly delivered the goods in a way only he knows.

YUMO is a staple in the local Brisbane music scene, but for some reason unbeknown to me, the rest of the country is still yet to catch onto him. However, by possessing one hell of an ambitious attitude and an innate drive to always outdo himself, I'd say it is only a matter of time before people start taking notice - especially now with the release of his remix of Hermitude's 'Ukiyo'.

Turning the original on it's head and inside out, YUMO has breathed some fresh air into the original track. Focussing on laying down some serious groove, he keeps it fresh and light before taking it up a few levels with some slowly swelling synths, bouncing beats and some hip hop sensibilities. Practically made for dancefloors everywhere, YUMO flexes his signature style a la TA-KU or Kaytranada and gives his original sounds some room to shine through.

Catching you by surprise, YUMO takes the track down into trap territory, breaking it up with some hard hitting drums and plunging bass. Showing a certain versatility that sets him apart from the fray, he navigates his way through a multitude of different styles, blending them all together to make this impressive remix.

Brisbane fans can catch the man in action come Halloween, as he'll be performing at a secret house party on the night. Head to his Facebook for more details there, and head to his SoundCloud to get your ears around more from one of Brisbane's finest.
