Are DOES IT OFFEND YOU, YEAH? back from the dead? Kind of/perhaps/maybe...

After taking an indefinite hiatus back in 2011 DIOYY? have released a new demo onto YouTube. We say demo, because it's not an official single. There's no upcoming album, there's no label backing it, there's no press release - there's just this track.

Alongside the video the band offer up "This track is Part 2 of ''With A Heavy Heart (I Regret To Inform You)'' but from her perspective." Which featured on their debut record, You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into.

Those familiar with DIOYY? will recognise that this is a departure from what we were left with on Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You, as 'I See Lights...' is slightly stripped back, slightly more down-tempo in comparison to the hard hitting dance punk they were at the forefront of. Regardless, it still retains that edgy, frantic feeling they've crafted over such a long time. It builds across the three minutes, with swirling synths seeming to become more and more purposeful - surrounding a solid beat and mellowed vocals.

We don't know what to expect next from the band, and we're not even sure who's in the band at this point - but they have been active on social media. When asked whether there's a new album in the works, the reply was summed up their current position: "Albums are so not a thing anymore. When we have a track, we will put it up. It's how we started. It's how we like. No label, no MGMT.. no nothing. Just like how it was when we did Rockstars/Battle. It's just us and you."

Whatever the future holds for Does It Offend You, Yeah?, it seems it won't stick to any guidelines and that's an extremely exciting prospect.

Listen to the new track below, as well as 'With A Heavy Heart...' for continuity purposes.
