29 September 2015 | 10:35 am | Tom Hutchins

This is the perfect timing to introduce you to Christa Vi, as she's just dropped a beautiful new EP. And we'll be premiering a remix of the lead single!

Have you heard CHRISTA VI yet? Well, as Australian's you should have - as she's half Australian, half German. This is the perfect timing to introduce you, as she's just dropped a beautiful new EP. And today we'll be premiering a remix of the lead single!

The Makeshift Happiness EP draws on Vi's strengths demonstrated in previous material and transforms them into something far more delicate and darker. According to the presser: "A casual obsession with origami and paper-craft inspired the concept of creating something beautiful or functional out of something ordinary- a metaphor for making the best of life's hard knocks."

Sonically, her sounds work within the wide world of synth-pop; with smoky, woozing synthesizers paired with the powerful vocals of Christa Vi. And as you'll see in the below remix, SMALL PYRAMIDS just takes this style one step further.

Small Pyramids makes use of the tight hi-hats and snares that simmer gently underneath the original and press them to the surface. By pairing back her vocals a bit, a pulsating electro beat surrounds the warm dance keys can take flight - and suddenly this downtempo dark pop creation is a club ready track.

The Makeshift Happiness EP is out now via Christa's own record label, Tangelo Records.
