You'd have thought he was already up to album number three or so by now, but no, FLOATING POINTS is today only announcing the release of his debut album.

You'd have thought he was already up to album number three or so by now, but no, FLOATING POINTS is today only announcing the upcoming release of his debut album.

The producer known as Floating Points, aka Sam Shepard, will be dropping Elaenia in November - and judging from the LP's first cut, it's going to be a truly expansive listen.

According to the presser: Elaenia is an album that draws inspiration from classical, jazz, electronic music, soul and even Brazilian popular music, Elaenia is truly the epitome of the forward-thinking Floating Points vision in 2015.

The video we're offered is 'Silhouettes', it's made up from a section of 'Silhouettes (I, II & III)', an eleven-minute overture that is also the second track on Elaenia. It seems like a true representation of what the presser outlined; clean and professional, intricate and minimalistic - it feels just as much like a cinematic soundtrack as it feels like a slow moving club track.

Elaenia Tracklist

1. Nespole

2. Silhouettes (I, II & III)

3. Elaenia

4. Argenté

5. Thin Air

6. For Marmish

7. Peroration Six

Elaenia will be out November 6 via POD/Inertia/PlutoShepard will be appearing at this years Meredith Music Festival, although it's yet to be announced whether he'll be bringing his new 11-piece orchestra Floating Points show along with him.
