We have been graced with a heart-felt piece of future bass by Melbourne foursome, YOUNGS. 'Serasan Shakes', their most recent single is worth a listen.

We have been graced with a heart-felt piece of future bass by Melbourne foursome, YOUNGS. 'Serasan Shakes', their most recent single is totally worth a listen.

Produced and engineered by the clever, Anna Laverty (Meg Mac), and mastered by Andrei Eremin (every Melbourne legend ever), 'Serasan Shakes' is a deeply complex piece of mind warping electronica.

The first word in the song's title 'Serasan', refers to the popular antidepressant which is now discontinued, due to its harmful side effects. With 'Serasan Shakes', Youngs delve into the dark depths of the human psyche, with an interpretation of death, loss and grief.

A mixture of dark ambient music with a breakbeat sensibility, this song is both manic and calm. It captures the repercussions of death with soft keys and a smooth, melancholic melody representing the ever-presence of grief in one's life.
