Live Review: Pendant ‘Adage’ Ft. Dev
PENDANT's teamed up with rapper DEV for this spacey slice of slick hip hop inspired beats with a gorgeous slew of words being thrown into the mix.
You’ve probably already heard his sounds under the moniker Nakagin, but he’s refreshed his artistic output and emerged as PENDANT.
His sounds still have that gorgeous atmospheric component that gave us the illusion of space that we loved so much, however his latest track shows him going in a different direction. And one that we definitely dig.
He’s teamed up with rapper DEV for this spacey slice of slick hip hop inspired beats with a gorgeous slew of words being thrown into the mix.

He’s utilised more of a trap beat in this one, much like his previous single, and I guess this is what truly grounds this track to reality.
I love that juxtaposition of airy sounds against the crisp, hard beat of the hi-hat and snare hitting in the foreground. It really does well in accentuating this new direction for Pendant.
We’re so stoked to hear this new one from Pendant, particularly even more so in the creative difference it’s brought about. However, the bars from Dev work exceptionally well with the beat to create this gorgeous, cohesive sound that feels so wholesome.
