Grab your ticket for the Spacebus, because it’s set to be one heck of a ride. Hop on, buckle up and get set for an incredible new musical odyssey from the worldly BOLTS, the 8-bit offerings of HLMNSRA, the cosmic-exploratory that is TEHBIS and the video game sounds of IGLOOGHOST.

Fly High Society, a label based in the UK, have just put out the first volume of their Spacebus compilation collection. It’s a cosmic cassette that’s absolutely teeming with shimmering synths, eclectic sampling and overall, an incredible intergalactic theme that comes across as incredibly innovative.

We begin our journey with BOLTS’ ‘Messages (One 4 Mercury)’, an off-kilter shimmering slice of experimental production that’s absolutely teeming with life. There are layers and layers of gorgeously spliced synths that coincide neatly with the promising amalgamation of samples, vocal and non-vocal. Overall, it’s tentatively neat, and sets this up to be a fantastic blend of sounds.

We continue on our path to get off at HLMNSRA’s stop. It’s centred around ‘My Venus’, and evokes some incredibly colourful scenes. It’s summery, yet at the same time, feels quite vacuous and incredibly vast. Its sound is sweeping, and feels quite haunting in the way that this has the potential to fill an incredible room with such long-reachpaining sounds.

Our journey continues with TEHBIS’ ‘Jupiter’, a bass filled descent into nothingness. It’s enigmatic, and I think this is an incredible break from the almost ambient sounds we heard a little earlier. It’s eclectic in its delivery, however it’s the incredibly warped cosmic sounds that make this one an incredible hit.

‘Saturn Rice’, the offering from IGLOOGHOST, feels incredibly touched by FlyLo. It’s incredibly fast paced, eclectic and most of all fits so incredibly well with the overall intergalactic feel that emanates from this entire collection.

Fly High Society has always been at the top of their game in terms of innovation, and it’s definitely no surprise that this compilation tape comes across as inventive, out of the ordinary and overall, original beyond belief.
