Melbourne artist Yeo is well and truly back with his new track 'Quiet Achiever', taken from his forthcoming album out later this year.

YEO is an Australian artist that hardly needs an introduction anymore. He's been kicking around since about 2013, and made a name for himself with tracks like 'Girl' and 'Kobe', which highlight his multitude of influences and styles that he combines into something entirely his own. The Melbournite has been having a break of sorts, but is well and truly back today with the release of 'Quiet Achiever'.

Premiering on Richard Kingsmill's radio show 2015 on triple J earlier this week, the wait has definitely been worth it when it comes to this track. The warm synths, the distorted vocals and the occasional laser sound leading into the trap-styled breakdown of 'Quiet Achiever' make for a really fun track, regardless of the slightly more sinister lyrics.

Clearly taking time to hone his craft a little more, Yeo has definitely stepped up with this latest release, and has not wasted any time reminding fans old and new who he is.

Having a little more fun, the plethora of samples like steel drums, lasers and what sounds like chipmunk vocals firing off through the definitely heavier producer track as well as his synth work, hip hop beats and his R&B-styled soulful vocals show that there is just as much on display as his previous work. But, it's the way he's given the track a modern flair and built on his already accomplished portfolio that shows Yeo really coming into his own.

'Quiet Achiever' is apparently taken from a forthcoming LP from the Melbourne artist; an album we can't wait to get our hands on. Here's hoping it's not as long between drinks this time!
