Live Review: The Japanese House 'Sister'

Get After the recent release of her debut EP, Pools To Bathe In, 19 year old newcomer THE JAPANESE HOUSE graces us with another track 'Sister'.

It's safe to say that label, Dirty Hit have really hit the nail on the head signing young Londoner, Amber Bain. This chick has really come into her own with her debut release, having a refreshing and nuanced take on the electronic genre.

Moody and powerful, Sister is a stripped back approach to that deep, inner synth pop we've heard on her previous tracks 'Still', 'Teeth' and 'Pools To Bathe In'. With a natural blend of ambient and upbeat backdrops (a similar aesthetic to Baths) and echo-y a cappella vocals (emulating early Imogen Heap), it's hard not to be transfixed by this song, its minimalism and its subtle air of nostalgia.

Alongside the intelligent production and impeccable layering, it wouldn't be a Japanese House track if we didn't have thought provoking lyrics that drive forward with just the right amount of emotional sentiment.

Pools To Bathe In EP was released in April this year and should be the next eclectic addition to your music library.
