Live Review: Eves The Behavior 'Electrical'

22 May 2015 | 11:57 am | Emma Jones

With the release of her most pop - but best - song yet, 'Electrical', we are predicting very big things to come from Eves The Behavior!

After a couple of name changes, a slew of gorgeous tracks and videos and landing a spot of St Jerome's Laneway Festival earlier this year, EVES THE BEHAVIOR isn't wasting anytime making sure people hear her. Following on from her breakout track 'TV', she returns with a slightly different sound in her latest release, 'Electrical'.

With vocals immediately reminiscent of Lauren Mayberry from CHVRCHES, real name Hannah Karydas is back bigger and bolder than ever with 'Electrical'. Showing off her vocal range and power more than ever, this is definitely her most pop track, but also her best. With each release, she has demonstrated continued and rapid development just about every facet of her project, and her hard work is certainly paying off tenfold here.

Flawlessly produced, with passionate vocals from Karydas, the hard hitting drums and twinkling keys, as well as the heavy synth chords like a wall of sound swelling below the high reaching singing make for a heartfelt and intimate experience, and a perfect introductory track if you were yet to hear of the songstress. If you had, this is yet another gold star for the young artist.

More eloquent than your standard pop track, slightly darker and exposing, 'Electrical' is somewhat of a turning point for Eves The Behavior, as she now begins to hone her direction and sound to where she wants to go. I am predicting very big things still to come from her!
