It's no secret that Perth is pumping out some of the best electronic music producers in the country right now. And with that, we have the ever-so-talented dance floor don, DYP with his latest single 'Sunrise'.

It's no secret that Perth is pumping out some of the best electronic music producers in the country right now. And with that, we have the ever-so-talented dance floor don, DYP with his latest single 'Sunrise'.

To be released under Slime Recordings on May 25th, Iain Gately's 'Sunrise' will sit amongst an array of diverse tracks on the, Fifths' Various, album. A record aimed at re-capturing the labels experimental aesthetic and approach to showcasing forward thinking dance music.

Fresh and slinky with uplifting pops and summery synths, DYP captures all things sunny in three minutes of gloriously textured, dark house and dance hall. This track acts as a perfect progression after the release of 'Ardent'  (under Pilerats Records late last year) and that little piece of future pop perfection that was 'Parking Lot (DYP Menu Saver Edit)'.

After a trip to Jamaica and saturating himself with a whole heap of dancehall, it's of no surprise that this 27 year old producer created 'Sunrise' as an exploration of that infectious, percussive sound.

"I was kind of thinking about this beach we always used to go to on Sundays when I was volunteering in Jamaica, called Winifred Beach. Any dancehall-y tracks I've been working on are all kind of odes to that period really". - DYP

'Sunrise' is one of those clean, glistening hits that encompasses all of those head lifting, mind moving things we love about dance music and the way it makes us feel.
