Live Review: Catlips ‘Fade’ (Official Video)

7 April 2015 | 8:36 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

Pilerats' newest family member CATLIPS has just released the aesthetically pleasing new video for 'Fade', directed by CHELA.

After taking 2015 by storm already, CATLIPS is no stranger when it comes to creativity. The producer has already seen her highly anticipated EP put out earlier last month through her new family at Pilerats, had a killer new single reach masses across Australia and played a cool run of shows.

If we can draw anything from her impressive grasp, it’s that Catlips isn’t slowing down anytime soon. And she truly hasn’t.

She’s just dropped the killer new video for ‘Fade’, and funnily enough, Chela, was put on directing duties for this one.

Primary colours, crinkles, marble and a shit tonne of artistry has gone into this one. It’s eclectic, an accurate reflection of the bounce-heavy single I guess. More than anything, it’s kinda kooky, just like Catlips herself.

Her heavily 80’s aesthetic (in terms of colour, sheen and retrospect) is reflected so aptly in this, and I love the way it turns out.

Catlips’ intricate way of expression has been so perfectly captured in this video, and I think in terms of perfect reflections, this is definitely one of them.
