Live Review: Denzel Stirling ‘Pisalgripp’

7 April 2015 | 9:30 am | Caitlin Medcalf

Denzel Stirling has just dropped his latest trap-filled banger, 'Pisalgripp'. Get up!

Repetitive in nature and extremely fiery in its delivery, trap music has at least on one occasion got the best of us. Whether it be in your room throwing down to the sick snares, or in the club slut-dropping to the best of your ability, it’s made a monster of all of us.

DENZEL STERLING’s take on trap is cool, crazy and definitely eclectic.

‘Pisalgripp’ is definitely not tentative. It’s strong, punchy and very in your face. The back and forth stutter of ‘pistol grip’ almost sounds like ‘pisalgripp’ after a while, a definite homage to the song’s interpretation of the almost unfortunate phrase.

Word samples have been used so efficiently here, and I think if anything, they uphold and create the beat. The percussion acts more as an agent for change and underlying this metallic, almost non-human sound.

DENZEL STERLING’s track delivers what we want and even more from trap music. And it’s just what we all needed for our weekend romps.
