With his new album Dark Red approaching steadily, coming out on the 4th of April (pre-order here), Shlohmo has released his teasing and thrilling new song Beams, showing us that we are really in for something special with the upcoming release.

The emotional and overwhelming nature of the song in conjunction with the scattered, attention grabbing film clip is engaging and capturing, and is the ideal teaser for the album.

Despite the BadBadNotGood kinda vibe, Beams is a unique, edgy and experimental take on emotion. The drum-and-bass anthem is something not heard to regularly in the pop music scene, but by the looks of it Shlohmo will be bringing it in with his new album release. The film clip consists of 6 vines from Vine extraordinaire Jack Irving interwoven to create a stream of no-face night life and parties with seems to go hand in glove with the vibe of the track which simply seems like a soundtrack to that particular lifestyle.

The use of innovative synth melody and unfocused bass lines, the punk rock snares and the nostalgic overall sound drags us...no...leads us into the film clip and track causing all the emotion and memories to implode all at once inside the listener.
