London based artist, THE JAPANESE HOUSE releases ‘Pools To Bathe In’, her sophomore single and title track from upcoming debut EP.

The enigmatic 19 year old, behind the impeccably produced track ‘Still’ (released earlier this month) is Amber Bain. After receiving the Catch-of-the-Day thumbs up from Triple J’s Zan Rowe, it’s hard to deny that this girl is packing something special.

With this new title track off her debut EP (said to be released in April this year,) she has set the bar high with an ear gripping amalgamation of ethereal vocals, off-kilter tempos and submerged bass that warps and echoes over an enthralling 4 minutes.

This is the sort of futuristic, minimalist pop that combines the best of those who defined the lo-fi world for us... think James Blake, meets (early) Imogen Heap meets a teeny tiny bit of Arca thrown in for good measure. The Japanese House unapologetically combines a series of electronic elements to create a beautiful soundscape of auto-tuned goodness and synth-y melancholia.
