Live Review: Swick & Lucid 'Rubber'

25 February 2015 | 11:10 pm | Emma Jones

Australians producers Swick & Lucid team up to deliver one huge bass filled number, 'Rubber'.

As far as new tracks go, they don't get much bigger than Rubber - a fresh new monster from the combined efforts of SWICK and LUCID. Filthy in all the right places, it's near impossible not to throw down to this bad boy.

Short and sweet at only 2 and a half minutes, this is one hell of a tune. Bouncing synth samples and bubbling, creaking samples littered throughout, it's not long at all before the heavy bass comes in and turns everything upside down. Best enjoyed on an unreal sound system for full effect, Rubber is almost guaranteed to feature in more than a few DJ sets in the coming months.

Both SWICK and LUCID have been busy making names for themselves recently, and with the release of Rubber this will only take them further.

SWICK is currently on tour with pal and recent collaborator NINA LAS VEGAS, continues pumping out new material, has DIPLO's approval, and is expecting to drop his new EP, Crystal Palace in March - so it's safe to say it's only a matter of time before he truly blows up. As for LUCID, he has been keeping quiet this year until now. The Melbourne artist ended last year on a high with the release of his EP, Heartagramwhich was followed by a triple J mix and

If this is the kind of material both producers are capable of, we should be hearing a lot more of both of them in the near future. They can't keep this music secret for very long!
