Live Review: Lung Dart 'B. OK'

It's sedated sound and seemingly despondent nature will cause you to feel as if there is a art-house film being based around your sorrow.

As a preview to their up and coming 'EBBS' EP, to be released by Happy Valley Records on April 27th, Lung Dart have released their first single - 'B OK.'

From the get go of my first listen I was totally captivated and found myself melting into the song...or perhaps letting it melt into me. With it's sedated sound and seemingly despondent nature, this song speaks a lot more than purely what the lyrics are saying. I don't mean to categorise this song...but it is one of those songs that doesn't make you happy or sad...but rather both.

Whether you're heartbroken or just like me and opened the vegemite to find not enough left to make a piece of toast, this song will make you feel as if there is a art-house film being based around your sorrow...and the opening scene is you on a train, tracing the outlines of trees on the window with your finger, this song playing in the background.

This song is beautiful. It captures the particular mood that was obviously felt when writing the song as clearly as a photograph, allowing the listener to feel the emotions almost as powerfully as the writer did. Its desolate and sorrowful, but peaceful and mind clearing to hear; with minimal lyrics and a repetitive rhythm drawing in and out the experimental sounds of other riffs - it's completely enthralling.

If this single is any indication of what's to come from Lung Dart, I can predict now that we are in for one hell of an EP and one hell of an emotional roller-coaster.
