Melbourne musician, LANKS, has released the first single from his forthcoming second EP as a free digital download.

LANKS2

LANKS' music can be seen as a giant, golden cake. Taking one slice at a time, you don't know how much of the moist dessert is left, but you're definitely overly-satisfied with the scrumptious piece you plan on devouring before you. Today's baked good is a brand new single titled 'Hold Me Closer'.

Withering away the distraction of instrumentation, the Melbourne artist allows his breathy voice to bare all in the naked light of 'Hold Me Closer', as it is accompanied by nothing more than a bleak, consistent beat; something we've heard in the work of groups like THE ACID.

Completely dodging the copycat stamp, LANKS' next move triggers an assortment of guitars, percussion, electronic melodies and vocal loops, as they come alive in this bold and rhythmic sequence; one that could have only been arranged by this classically trained musician.

Indicative of LANKS' renowned flair and intricate composition, we oblige to a game of sonic hide & seek as these textures fluctuate in the way that they thicken, fasten and mysteriously drop completely throughout the life of the song. Pair this with the enthralling lyricism delivered in a variety of hues to soon appreciate the thought process behind these tunes; for LANKS' has an extremely careful eye that has the magical ability to simultaneously explore a rainbow of effects without overcrowding a three and a half minute entity.

LANKS' 'Hold Me Closer' is available now as a free digital download, and is to feature on the burgeoning artist's second EP release that is due to drop in this earlier part of 2015.

LANKS' will be launching the single at Melbourne's Whole Lotta Love on Friday, April 3. Check out the Oztix page for ticket and event info.
