Live Review: Riffie 'With You'

Once a duo now a solo-act, emerging Melbourne producer Riffie has strutted his stuff on to the music scene in a cloud of dreamlike house beats. Having impressed a number of big named electronic artists, such as Motez and Benson and recently signed to the label Medium Rare Recordings (MRR), 2015 looks to have cleared a successful path for the talented producer.

Riffie's first released track through the Melbourne recording label MRR and one of his most loved mixes ‘With you’, is a bass-dripping original mix that combines all things that make house electronica dance-movingly good. It’s funky, almost 80’s inspired blend features smooth production that fuses bassline, synth and voice in an upbeat and masterfully executed club anthem. Reminding listeners and creating an atmosphere that you’d relate to hot, sweaty clubs, summer nights and overall good times.

Perhaps the best part of the song is its heavy bassline that builds and stabs and knowingly guides the rest of the songs elements into sequences of pure, aesthetic goodness. The various segments all pulled together in a luscious house beat.

Riffie, a producer who can boast unique mixes, an ability to keep everything new, fresh and unexpected and whose work is quickly getting recognized, is soon to become a well-known Australian producer. So if you are a house fan, Riffie is for you.
