Self-described Adelaide ‘bedroom producer’ Allume, though still emerging into the music scene is a promising and incredibly talented artist.

Self-described Adelaide ‘bedroom producer’ Allume, though still emerging into the music scene is a promising and incredibly talented artist.

Having just released an EP titled ‘3’ which features collaborations with artists Valleys, Oscilla and Souda, the three song debut is a small collection of airy, bass savvy tunes as different as the artists in collaboration.

‘Hands’ the first track from the EP; an electro-pop mix of sweet, elfish vocals, pounding beats and progressive synth, gives us the first taste of Allume x Valleys. There is a bit of an illusion with this track, not quite down-tempo yet also not a fast-paced club mix, the tracks ability to morph laid-back vocals with upbeat backings adds a whole heap of charm and results in a defining sound that is an Allume-Valley mix.

In addition and like most good electronica Allume x Valleys fiery yet chilled mix omits an incredibly airy ambience that doesn’t disappoint, at points reminding me of such artists as San Holo and Joy. This being said Allume wholly brings the track into her own creating a distinct sound that is unique to her, her collaborator and which is sure to be recognised just in sound.

Though the mix may remind listeners of grey, atmospheric days or calm oceans, there is no doubt that the track could also be classified as a summer anthem which also adds to the strange yet irresistible nature of the track. Allume is set to become a successful up and comer in 2015, so be sure to check her out.
